Construction is underway on a major expansion project at the Blue Bell Ice Cream manufacturing facility located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The project is a 100,002 sq ft plant expansion, which will include a new automated storage and retrieval system, office expansion, dry storage warehouse, cold docks, stand-alone refrigeration engine room, and site improvements. The automated system functions like a 95-foot vending machine, increasing the plant’s storage capacity and efficiency of loading trucks.

Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor.

“Industrial construction is often complex, and these types of projects are essential for our nation’s business,” said Vice President and Division Manager Ryan Springer. “We’re honored to put our significant industrial experience to work as we help Blue Bell expand its capacity.”

The general contractor has completed more than $3.7 billion in industrial projects, with more than $705 million in food and beverage projects completed or in progress.

The Broken Arrow expansion will be the 32nd project Brasfield & Gorrie has completed with Blue Bell since 1995, and its second on this campus. Gresham Smith is the architect. The expansion is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2025.
