Integrated Project Delivery

Developed to achieve the principles of Lean construction, integrated project delivery (IPD) can take Lean to the next level. IPD is a contractual delivery method that encourages participants to collaborate on a larger scale, incorporating Lean practices throughout the project. Performed correctly and consistently, these practices positively impact safety, cost, quality, and schedule.

Brasfield & Gorrie has a strong IPD portfolio, and we’ve developed best practices based on our experience with IPD projects of a variety of sizes. Our Cone Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital project in Greensboro, North Carolina, is using an IPD contract, Target Value Analysis, and Lean methods delivery—and is showing just how successful IPD can be. With a significant amount of profit at risk, the project team constantly strives for ways to innovate and build more efficiently while still delivering the high quality that Brasfield & Gorrie is known for. Because of the project’s success, the team has been awarded the Cone Health drawbridge emergency department project, which will use the same IPD process.
