Contractor Awarded First Place for Work on Post Alexander
Atlanta, Georgia (June 13, 2016) – Brasfield & Gorrie today announced that AGC Georgia recognized the firm with a Build Georgia Award for its work on Post Alexander, a multifamily high-rise in Atlanta’s prominent Buckhead neighborhood.
AGC Georgia selected Post Alexander for the First Place Build Georgia Award due to the project’s complexity and quality. The organization commended Brasfield & Gorrie for the team’s expert schedule management, ability to overcome challenges and excellent safety record on the project.
Post Alexander is a 26-story, 540,000 sq ft apartment tower, boasting 340 residential units on 19 floors and seven levels of parking. The property’s amenities include a pool deck with cabanas and outdoor grills, a cyber café, a fitness center and a 19th-floor roof terrace offering breathtaking views of the city’s skylines. The project is seeking National Green Building Standards (NGBS) certification.
After a fast-track, 24-month schedule that included turning over the first phase of completed units after only 21 months, the construction team delivered the new apartment community ahead of schedule and under budget. Working on a one-acre curb-to-curb site, Brasfield & Gorrie completed the full structure in only 200 days using a five-day concrete-pour-and-set cycle on each repeating residential floor.

The team’s outstanding performance on the Post Alexander project laid the groundwork not only for this honor but also for the opportunity to partner with Post Properties on their current project, Post Millennium Midtown. A 25-story, 575,000 sq ft apartment tower in the heart of Midtown, Post Millennium Midtown will feature 356 residential units. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2017.
