Brasfield & Gorrie Completes Expansion of Georgia Southern University’s Paulson Stadium

August 28, 2014

Stadium expansion completed on schedule, constructed during active football season

Atlanta, Ga. (Aug. 28, 2014) – Brasfield & Gorrie today announced the on-schedule completion of an $8.5 million expansion project at Georgia Southern University’s Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Ga.

The project involved 47,800 sq ft of expansion as well as 8,100 sq ft of building additions. Designed to increase the stadium’s capacity from 14,500 seats to approximately 25,000 seats, the project involved additions of on-grade seating, a club level, and an elevated deck, as well as expansions of the concessions and restroom buildings.

The project was completed on schedule despite the challenges created by receiving nearly 75 inches of rain and constructing during an active football season.

Serving as general contractor, Brasfield & Gorrie’s Atlanta office partnered with architect Rosser International on this project, which began in June 2013.

The stadium expansion is Brasfield & Gorrie’s second project on the Georgia Southern University campus, where the company completed a $34.8 million Biological Sciences Building in 2013.
