Brasfield & Gorrie Completes Construction of Post Alexander

Contractor Finishes Work on Buckhead’s Newest Luxury Residence
ATLANTA, Ga. (October 6, 2015) – Brasfield & Gorrie has completed construction of Post Alexander, Buckhead’s newest apartment community. After a fast-track, 24-month schedule that included turning over the first phase of completed units after only 21 months, the construction team has delivered the Buckhead high-rise ahead of schedule and under budget.
Situated behind Phipps Plaza, on the corner of Lenox Road and Phipps Boulevard, Post Properties’ most recent addition is a 26-story, 540,000 sq ft tower with 340 luxury residential units and seven levels of parking.
The one-acre curb-to-curb site and tight schedule required expert maneuvering throughout construction. Brasfield & Gorrie completed the full structure in only 200 days using a five-day concrete-pour-and-set cycle on each repeating residential floor. 
“With the help of more than 1,000 construction team members and an accumulation of more than 2 million man hours, we completed Post Alexander ahead of schedule and under budget,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Senior Project Manager Phillip Glass. “Now residents will be able to come home to the view our crane operators and construction crews have enjoyed for the last two years.”
The property features high-end finishes, ranging from the marble adorning the lobby entry to the apartments’ quartz countertops, smart thermostats and enviable kitchen appliances. The building’s amenities include a pool deck with cabanas and outdoor grills, a cyber café, a fitness center and a 19th-floor roof terrace offering breathtaking views of the city’s skylines.
Designed by Cooper Carry Inc. and constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie, Post Alexander is seeking National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Bronze certification for its sustainable elements.
In addition to Post Alexander, Brasfield & Gorrie currently has six multifamily projects planned or under way in the city of Atlanta. Altogether, these projects include more than 2.3 million square feet of space and have a total construction value of approximately $320 million.
