Brasfield & Gorrie Completes Fort Benning Project

Fort Benning, Ga. —- Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC recently completed an Equipment Concentration Site, Warehouse and Tactical Maintenance facility in Fort Benning, Georgia. Brasfield & Gorrie teamed with CH2MHill architects, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the $22 million project.

The Warehouse facility is 139,000 sq ft, which includes 6,400 sq ft of office space. The project is a structural steel frame with structural precast wall panels and an Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) roof. The facility also features locker rooms, shower areas, break rooms, an arms vault, and fire pump building and a water storage tank. The Tactical Equipment Maintenance facility includes 30,800 sq ft of maintenance space, 5,900 sq ft of office area, a 32 ton bridge crane, and a lube pit.

The project incorporated many sustainable elements and is expected to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver certification by the United States Green Building Council.

The facility also won an Alabama Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction award recently. The project also won a “Serious About Safety” award given by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
