The Railroad Park project is a new park located on a 22-acre site that encompasses four city blocks in a formerly abandoned industrial area along an existing rail line. The park includes two lakes and a series of ponds and check dams along a stream. The water in the streams is recirculated continuously to the wetlands near the Rail Trail Bridge and North Lake.
The park contains a brick-paved plaza with restrooms, a covered seating area, catering space, a security station, and benches. Two areas are included for entertainment setup: one large lawn area with terraced seating, and one bowl-shaped sloped area prepared for a future stage. On-site security is present 24/7 along with security cameras and emergency phones.
There are numerous walking and biking paths within the park, along with two pedestrian bridges, timber walks, playgrounds for toddlers, children, and skateboarders, and an adult exercise area.
