Truist Park

Atlanta, Georgia

Client:
Atlanta Braves/Cobb County

Project Size:
1.1 million sq ft

Our team completed the Atlanta Braves’ new ballpark as managing partner of American Builders 2017, construction manager and joint venture between Brasfield & Gorrie, Mortenson Construction, Barton Malow Company, and New South Construction Company. We completed the ballpark in time for the 2017 season, just 29 months after the start of construction.

The team and its subcontractors logged more than 5.6 million man-hours, poured more than 57,300 cubic yards of concrete, and placed more than 5,600 tons of rebar, 6,800 tons of structural steel, 231,890 linear feet of piping, 502,000 concrete masonry unit blocks, and 602,000 hand-set bricks on the project.

Truist Park has 41,500 seats and features a three-level Chop House, an Xfinity rooftop lounge, several premium clubhouses, a kid’s zone, and a variety of concessions, including an on-site brew pub. The stadium is one of the most technologically advanced in the country, with two 100-gigabit-per-second Ethernet lines.

A partnership between American Builders 2017 and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Georgia Tech Research Institute, and the Georgia chapter of the Associated General Contractors enhanced safety efforts on the project, promoting the use of health and safety best practices.
