The Montgomery Bell Academy (MBA) H. Frank Burkholder Wellness Center is a three-story, 200,000 sq ft athletic facility that houses a 1,400-seat basketball arena, 40-yard indoor practice field, three-court practice gymnasium, fitness facility, lounge, and locker rooms. The project also included the demolition of the existing home football stadium to build a new precast stadium and an outdoor lacrosse field.
Founded in 1867, MBA is the oldest independent school for boys in Tennessee. Distinguished MBA alumni include professional golfer Brandt Snedeker, Atlanta Braves pitcher R.A. Dickey, and sportswriter Grantland Rice. The wellness center is pursuing LEED Gold certification.
