Flint Creek Power Plant Activated Carbon Injection and Dry Flue Gas Desulphurization Civil Package and Welsh Power Plant Civil Package

In order to meet strict new regulations from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Flint Creek Power Plant needed a handful of upgrades. Brasfield & Gorrie provided the site development, civil and structural package, and underground mechanical work for the activated carbon injections as well as dry flue gas desulphurization. Additionally, our team self-performed more than 14,000 cubic yards of concrete foundation and 16,000 linear feet of underground piping.
In the midst of ongoing chimney upgrades at the J. Robert Welsh Power Plant, Brasfield & Gorrie stepped in to provide an activated carbon-injection system that would reduce mercury emissions below the newly minted U.S Environmental Protection Agency standards. As part of this civil package, our team built more than 15,000 cu yd of concrete foundations and a concrete-encased electrical duct bank as well as 13,000 linear feet of underground piping, wrapping with a final grading and paving package.
