The Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering Foundation recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest facility, the Sentinel Center. The event was attended by State Senator Arthur Orr, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, ASCTE Foundation Board Chair Alicia Ryan, and community partners. Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie served as the lead contractor on the project. The general contractor previously built the school’s main facilities.

The Sentinel Center is a $12.5 million, 1,100-seat student activity facility. The facility supports athletics, student programs, and collaborative space.

The Foundation also announced a $3 million investment from philanthropist Hank Isenberg to establish the Isenberg Institute, a new research institute and center for academic excellence at ASCTE. The $12 million, 25,877 sq ft project will be built in partnership with Brasfield & Gorrie, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and TCU Consulting Services.

“This is about preparing students for what comes next,” said PeggyLee Wright, Executive Director of the ASCTE Foundation.
