NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center Testing

February 11, 2019

NASA recently loaded a liquid hydrogen test tank for America’s new deep space rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS), into test stands at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. The SLS is the most powerful rocket ever built! The tank will hold more than 500,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and, when combined with liquid oxygen, the fuels produce a powerful combustion thrust to launch the SLS into our solar system. We completed construction of the test stands used for this test in 2016.
