Brasfield & Gorrie Marks Construction Milestone at Crabtree Terrace

March 1, 2019

General contractor Brasfield & Gorrie recently joined East West Partners to mark a construction milestone at Crabtree Terrace, an office building and parking deck in Raleigh.

During a gathering on Friday, Feb. 22, construction crews celebrated the topping out milestone, which signals the completion of the final level of the facility’s steel structure. The team achieved topping out ahead of schedule.

The six-story, 180,000 sq ft office building includes more than 30,000 sq ft of retail space. An adjacent precast parking deck provides 632 parking spaces. To date, the team has poured 3,800 yards of concrete, tied 256 tons of rebar and erected 914 tons of steel. The project has required 72,000 man hours thus far and has an excellent safety record with no accidents.

“Crabtree Terrace is a logistically challenging job, which has pushed the entire team to think in an innovative way that ensures precise timing for deliveries,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Eric Perkinson. “Lane closures and space for laydown are not feasible for Crabtree Terrace, which is located at one of Raleigh’s busiest intersections, Creedmoor Road and Glenwood Avenue. We are excited that progress is ahead of schedule thanks to proactive team members, including East West Partners, NEMA, Gensler, Kimley-Horn and our subcontractors.”

Brasfield & Gorrie is collaborating with architect Gensler on this project, which is slated for completion in the last quarter of 2019.
