August 21, 2019
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Brasfield & Gorrie, Atrium Health, Pappas Properties and The Beck Group recently celebrated the topping out of a Pappas Properties medical office building in Midtown at Kenilworth Avenue and Harding Place.
The general contractor is building a pair of Atrium Health medical office buildings and a nine-level parking deck. The first of these buildings is a 200,000 sq ft structure built on top of two levels of cast-in-place parking. The five-story facility will become Atrium Health’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – Kenilworth location. The new outpatient facility will house services that include a cardiac rehabilitation suite, state-of-the-art imaging capabilities and a range of sub-specialty cardiovascular services.
“We are grateful for our ongoing relationships with both Pappas Properties and Atrium Health,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Michael Byrd. “This facility will increase healthcare accessibility in Charlotte in an area where residents can live, work and play.”
Pappas Properties CEO and Founder Peter A. Pappas said, “Pappas Properties is honored to have partnered with Atrium in joining our vision for the future delivery of community healthcare, anchored within a multi-faceted mixed-use project.”
The building is accompanied by a nine-story,1,400-plus-space precast parking deck. This structure and its neighboring medical office building will be connected by a four-level pedestrian bridge.
“The Beck Group is very proud to be collaborating with Atrium and Pappas Properties on such a unique opportunity,” said The Beck Group National Director of Healthcare Sean Wilson. “This project is the first of many that will transform the way care is delivered in the city of Charlotte and our neighboring communities.” The project is slated for completion in the third quarter of 2020.
