Design-build services for a new 245,000 sq ft U.S. Courthouse. The building features eight courtrooms, 13 judges’ chambers, and spaces for the U.S. Courts, U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Attorneys, and other tenant agencies. The three-story conventional steel frame structure is clad in natural stone, terra cotta, architectural metal panels, and glass curtainwall and is designed to meet the required blast loads. The building boasts robust physical security and electronic security systems as needed to support public safety and prisoner movement. A focal point of the courthouse is the three-story central atrium with terrazzo flooring, wood wall paneling, and abundant natural light. The urban site covers 6.3 acres in downtown San Antonio and provides secured surface parking for 81 vehicles.
