New 300-ton crane goes to work on Memphis bridge modernization

B&G Equipment and Supply has taken delivery of its first Liebherr crawler crane, a 300-ton LR1300. The crane’s first assignment is a major bridge modernization project in Memphis, Tennessee.

Brasfield & Gorrie is replacing three bridges at the I-55 and State Route 14 (Third Street/US 61) interchange for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The work addresses an underheight bridge and adjacent aging bridges to improve safety and extend the lifespan of an important corridor. Because of their proximity and interconnected nature, Brasfield & Gorrie is completing the bridges together in a single, coordinated project.
