Brasfield & Gorrie tops out The Grounds

June 1, 2026

A construction site with a steel framework being built, a crane in use, workers gathered below, and the impressive Wake Forest University office building rising in the background under a blue sky with scattered clouds.

Another milestone is in the books at The Grounds in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The final beam was placed on Wake Forest University’s future office building less than a month after topping out a student housing development for the same mixed-use district.

This office building is part of a 100-acre project bringing office, retail, residential, trails, gathering spaces and new energy to the Deacon Boulevard area.

We’re proud to build alongside Carter, Front Street Capital, Wake Forest University, NELSON Worldwide, and our many trade partners as this vision continues to rise.
