Goat Rock Dam Turbine Installation

When the Goat Rock Dam acquired two new horizontal bulb-type turbines, generators, and other associated equipment, they needed extensive powerhouse modifications to complete the upgrade. Over the course of eight months, Brasfield & Gorrie oversaw extensive demolition and modifications of the existing concrete powerhouse structure as well as modifications of the water passages that included a new steel penstock liner, a concrete flow splitter, and new downsteam stop logs.
