Fukushima Warehouse Projects

Google Earth image

After an earthquake and a tidal wave heavily damaged Japanese nuclear reactors in 2011, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission required significant enhancements to American commercial nuclear power plants. Brasfield & Gorrie was tasked with a design-build project that included three separate single-story, pre-engineered metal warehouses in the Carolinas that would temporarily house emergency equipment. Our team self-performed the forming, reinforcing, and pouring of the building slab after demolishing and removing the existing slab.
