Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport Terminal Modernization

As the largest and busiest airport in Alabama, the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport faced a crucial need for renovation just after the turn of the century. Brasfield & Gorrie demolished existing sections to expand to three concourses with 23 gates, nearly doubling the size of the airport. This project was a joint venture with BLOC Services, who acted as the construction manager-at-risk and assisted in coordinating 11 airline moves, three moves by the TSA, and two moves by airline operations.
