Airbus A320 Final Assembly Line (FAL) Piling and Foundations, the Central Utility Plant, and Package A.

Brasfield & Gorrie was awarded three projects for Airbus at the Brookley Aeroplex in Mobile, Alabama: the A320 Final Assembly Line (FAL) Piling and Foundations, the Central Utility Plant, and Package A.

The FAL Piling and Foundations project consisted of piling, basement slabs and walls, pile caps, and grade beams for the final assembly line building. The project included more than 2,000 displacement piles and more than 1,200 cubic meters of concrete.

Brasfield & Gorrie worked as a subcontractor to Honeywell Building Solutions on the design-build Central Utility Plant project, which consisted of a power house and utility plant to feed the Airbus campus for the manufacture of the A320 aircraft. Utilities included potable water, fire protection water, sanitary sewer, electricity, hot and chilled water, and compressed air.

The Package A project consisted of the FAL Hangar, Service Building, and Logistics Center. The Service Building is the office corridor that houses the plant management staff, and the Logistics Building houses the necessary parts to assemble the interior of the aircraft. The project included underground concrete media tunnels, structural slab on grade, complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and interior build-out.
