The TK Elevator Test Tower and Innovation and Qualification Center (IQC) is a 420 ft tall, 216,292 sq ft elevator research, testing, and training facility. The Test Tower includes 18 elevator shafts while the adjacent low-rise IQC building is an integral part of the research and testing process. The tower required a concrete slip-form system to produce the test shaft safely, on schedule, and within the required tolerances.
Reaching New Heights in Self-Performance
How did we complete concrete for a more than 400-foot-tall tower in 56 days? In partnership with TK Elevator, we used an innovative self-performance technique, slip-form construction. The process enabled our team to complete the work in 56 days of continuous slip-form operation, plus three days for crane jumps.
