The Hendrick Center for Automotive Excellence facility sits on a 10- acre site on the Scott Northern Wake Campus. The new facility houses expanded classrooms and teaching labs/open-bay repair spaces for students learning automotive technology and collision repair. A state-of-the-art paint booth is included in the new facility. Other features include an engine dynameter, bipolar ionization in the air handlers, a transmission dynameter, and a welding suite.
The facility enables the college to more than double the number of students in its automotive systems technology program and add a new degree program in collision repair. Skilled technicians in both areas are in high demand at local dealerships.
