Northeast Georgia Health System Gainesville Clinical Expansion

Brasfield & Gorrie recently completed phase one of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Clinical Expansion project on its Gainesville campus. The project includes a new 11-story, 767,142 sq ft tower; a 436-space precast parking deck; a 47,428 sq ft stand-alone central energy facility connected with an underground cast-in-place utility tunnel; and a rooftop helipad. We added 96 new inpatient beds, 68 exam rooms, and four trauma rooms to the new emergency department within the new tower as well as a new intensive care unit. This build expanded the Georgia Heart Institute’s services to include cardiac testing, seven catheterization/electrophysiology labs, one endovascular operation room, and three cardiovascular operating rooms. Additionally, the project featured renovations within the existing tower. This included four operating room renovations, four equipment room renovations, and four sterile core modifications that took place immediately after the hospital was opened.
