This progressive design-build project includes the widening of rural highways 43 and 69 from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway as well as the addition of new bypasses along the 74-mile route from Thomasville to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Along with the widening and bypass construction, the project will involve construction of 23 new bridges, drainage, land clearing and grubbing, relocation of utilities, and the installation of over 100 box culverts. The project will be divided into 13 segments, each averaging 5.7 miles in length.

This is a transformative project for the west Alabama community, the state, and our company. The highway widening and other improvements will provide West Alabama’s rural areas more access to needed services and help drive economic development in the Black Belt.
