Mercer University School of Medicine

Mercer expanded their medical school to a third campus along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in 2012. Just a few years later, they were ready to grow their Columbus campus into a full four-year school, and Brasfield & Gorrie was ready to bring their vision to life. Featuring state-of-the-art classrooms, a vivarium, and several high-tech labs, this two-story facility will allow the school to increase its enrollment to match the size of the Macon and Savannah campuses.

Mercer University School of Medicine's Columbus facility honored with the AGC Build Georgia Award

“Brasfield & Gorrie certainly deserved this award,” said James S. Netherton, Ph.D., executive vice president for administration and finance at Mercer. “This project was done completely during the COVID-19 pandemic and its accompanying supply chain issues, was finished ahead of schedule, which was critical to opening school for the spring semester.”

"The team did an excellent, quality job on the Columbus Medical School project. We could not be more happy with the overall experience of working with Brasfield & Gorrie on the project. The project came in ahead of schedule and under budget and was of a very high quality. We look forward to future projects with them."
