Team Marks Construction Milestone on Luxury Apartments at Camperdown

January 22, 2019

GREENVILLE, S.C. – General contractor Brasfield & Gorrie recently joined Daniel, one of the southeast region’s most active real estate development, management and investment firms, to mark a milestone in the construction of the for-rent residential component of the new mixed-use development in downtown Greenville.

During a ceremony on Thursday, January 17, construction crews celebrated the topping out milestone, which signals the completion of the final level of the facility’s concrete structure.

The 11-story residential building includes 10 residential floors featuring 217 apartment units as well as a rooftop amenity level and retail space. The project team has placed 11,135 cubic yd of concrete, 465 tons of rebar, and 89.3 miles of post-tension cable during construction of this building.

“We’ve reached this important milestone thanks to the hard work and dedication of our employees, client, and trade partners. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue our work within the Camperdown development, and we look forward to completing this residential tower in 2020,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Ben Barfield.

Brasfield & Gorrie has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Daniel Corporation, having completed more than 70 projects for Daniel across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.

“This topping out is significant and has only been possible because of the partnership of Brasfield & Gorrie, Centennial American Properties, and Daniel, working together with The City of Greenville. It’s a proud moment for all of us and we look forward to welcoming future residents to their beautifully designed and well-appointed homes with best-in-class features and finishes in the heart of downtown Greenville,” said Daniel Executive Vice President Justin Weintraub.

Brasfield & Gorrie is collaborating with architect Wakefield Beasley & Associates on this project, which is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2020.

The general contractor is also working with developer Centennial American Properties on other components of this mixed-use development, including an office building topped by condominiums, and recently completed the 629-space parking deck located at the base of the apartments, which will service the entire Camperdown project.
