Brasfield & Gorrie Completes Dawson Memorial Building Addition

February 23, 2012

Homewood, Ala.— Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC, has completed the Edgar M. Arendall Children’s Building for Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama.

The 13-month project included approximately 45,000 sq ft of gathering sand education space for youths of all ages. The construction of the facility included a basement and three floors above, which were constructed separately and subsequently connected to the existing 50-year-old educational building. All stages of this process required precise planning by the project team.

The design team included BHATE Engineering, LBYD Engineering, CDH Partners, and Ashley Byrd Interiors.

This marks the completion of Brasfield & Gorrie’s second project for the Dawson Family of Faith and is the 35th religious facility completed in the Alabama by the company’s commercial group which specializes in the planning and construction of ecclesiastical facilities.

A dedication ceremony for the new facility will be held on March 4, 2012, at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
