The Wellstar Kennestone Hospital Emergency Department Replacement project is a two-story, 263,000 sq ft project that includes 146,711 sq ft of clinical space. The new facility features 166 beds, with 16 of those beds/rooms designated for pediatric emergency patients, 24,000 sq ft mechanical space, and a 75,000 sq ft, 169 space below-ground parking deck with a design that separates ambulance traffic from patient, residential, and pedestrian traffic. The new emergency department is connected to the existing hospital via a two-story, 72.5 ft, 128,000 lb (64-ton) pedestrian bridge.
