The Medical West Freestanding Emergency Department (FED) project is the first of its kind to be built in Alabama. The 23,485 sq ft emergency care facility consists of 15 treatment rooms, including one surgical/trauma room, an isolation treatment area, and 10 general exam/treatment rooms. The imaging suite houses CT, digital X-ray, and ultrasound spaces, with shell space for a future MRI. Also included are an eight-room outpatient urgent care clinic, laboratory and pharmacy services, and a helipad.
