The City of Raleigh Transit Operations Facility consists of a 29,000 sq ft, two-story operations administration building, a single-story 61,000 sq ft maintenance building with 14 service bays, a 7,500 sq ft bus wash, a two-lane fueling depot, and a bus shelter for Capital Area Transit riders. The operations center can accommodate a 125-bus fleet, with the capacity for expansion to 200 buses. This is one of the first integrated facilities of its kind to achieve LEED Platinum certification in the Southeast.

Over 430,000 sq ft of 10-inch-thick reinforced concrete paving was placed on the upper tier of the site to accommodate the bus traffic load. The paving provided a large apron covering the entire bus platform between each of the service buildings.

The project received funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
