Brasfield & Gorrie was the construction manager for the APAC Mid-South Warren County Quarry, a state-of-the-art granite processing plant and rail load-out facility on a 1,200-acre site. The facility processes granite aggregate products and ships them via rail. The primary portion of this project consisted of the design and construction of a complete granite processing facility: surge pile stacker, concrete reclaim tunnel, conveyors, 1,000 linear feet of corrugated multiplate reclaim tunnel, finishing plant, aggregate washing facility, and sand and fines recovery system.

Site development consisted of over 1 million cubic yards of structural fill for the plant, rail bed, and entrance road. Approximately 200,000 cubic yards of rock removed through drilling and blasting were crushed and used for site development. The project also included installation of 3,500 linear feet of storm water piping and construction of two lakes for capturing runoff water.

Rail work included installation of 22,000 linear feet of railroad track and an automated rail loading system.
