Emerald Coast Utilities Authority Central Water Reclamation Facility

For many years, Pensacola locals have been anticipating the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority Central Water Reclamation Facility, a replacement for the Main Street Wastewater Treatment Plant. The outdated wastewater treatment facility had become both an environmental nuisance and a liability to the community, especially after significant hurricane damage. The award-winning new structure is both 18 miles further inland and 50 feet above sea level at a minimum, making it not only state-of-the-art but less vulnerable to storm damage.
