North Alabama ABC Honors Brasfield & Gorrie for Excellence in Construction

Recognition underscores company’s growing presence in Huntsville area

Birmingham, Ala. (Nov. 15, 2013) – Brasfield & Gorrie today announced that it is the recipient of two of the highest awards bestowed by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of North Alabama. During an awards ceremony yesterday, the company received an Award of Excellence and the prestigious Project of the Year award for its work on the Confidential Client Missile Integration Facility in Huntsville, Ala.

“This recognition highlights the commitment to excellence and collaboration that was demonstrated by everyone associated with this highly technical and complex project,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Regional President Brian Barr.

The Award of Excellence was presented in the general contractor category for industrial projects in the range of $25-$100 million. The Project of the Year was awarded for overall excellence in the general contractor category.

Brasfield & Gorrie was general contractor of the Confidential Client Missile Integration Facility, a 70,000 sq ft fully automated missile manufacturing facility located on Redstone Arsenal. The project consisted of construction of a missile assembly facility, office support area, and two test cell bunkers. Site features included external mechanical yards, a guard house, parking lot, perimeter road, entry drive, truck dock, and extensive security systems. The project included 6,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place concrete and more than 4 million pounds of precast concrete.
