Brasfield & Gorrie Selected for Medical City Expansion and Renovation

Project expected to begin in October

Dallas, Texas (June 5, 2013) Brasfield & Gorrie has been awarded the vertical expansion and renovation of the Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

The project will consist of a 160,307 sq ft, four-story vertical expansion above the existing emergency department and ambulance drop-off, where the hospital admits more than 65 percent of its patients. Work will also include a 68,576 sq ft, phased interior renovation of multiple departments on the campus, including surgery, medical oncology, surgical oncology, stem cell, and the emergency department/cardiac diagnostic unit (CDU).

Brasfield & Gorrie has performed five renovations at Medical City, and this renovation and expansion will be the largest to date.

Perkins+Will is serving as the architect of record on the project, which will begin in January 2014.
