Brasfield & Gorrie is Named “General Contractor of the Year” by Alabama Builders Group

Associated Builders and Contractors of Alabama recognizes company with its highest corporate honor

Birmingham, Ala. (Oct. 4, 2013) – The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Alabama named Brasfield & Gorrie General Contractor of the Year at its annual Excellence in Construction awards ceremony Oct. 3, 2013. The highest corporate honor Alabama ABC bestows, the award recognizes Brasfield & Gorrie’s commitment to safety and stewardship, and its proven track record of success.

Brasfield & Gorrie Chief Operating Officer Jeff Stone accepted the award on behalf of the company. “We are honored to be named General Contractor of the Year by the Alabama ABC,” Stone said. “This prestigious award underscores our commitment to our core values of safety, stewardship, people and excellence.”

Brasfield & Gorrie also accepted five first-place awards during the Oct. 3 ceremony for projects the company constructed. The projects are Galveston Causeway Railroad Bridge Lift Span, Galveston, Texas; Main Exchange Replacement at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Baltimore, Md.; Princeton Baptist Hospital-East Expansion, Birmingham, Ala.; Redstone Missile Integration Facility, Huntsville, Ala.; and Samford University West Village Residence Hall, Birmingham, Ala.

Associated Builders and Contractors is a national association that advances and defends the principles of the merit shop in the construction industry and provides its members with an opportunity to succeed. The ABC of Alabama is one of 72 ABC chapters nationwide.
