Brasfield & Gorrie Founder Honored for Lifetime Achievement

Miller Gorrie receives Legacy Award from major construction publication

Birmingham, Ala. (November 15, 2016) – Brasfield & Gorrie Founder and Chairman Miller Gorrie was honored for lifetime achievement today by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southeast, a publication covering construction across the Southeast. ENR Southeast honored Gorrie with its annual Legacy Award, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated significant lifelong contributions to the industry as a whole and to their chosen professions.

To date, Southeast Legacy Award winners have included Pat Rodgers, president and CEO of Rodgers Builders, Charlotte; Tom Murphy Jr., CEO of Coastal Construction Group, Miami; and Bill Pinto, the retired COO and principal with the former Hardin Construction Co., Atlanta.

The award was presented at ENR Southeast’s Best Projects Awards luncheon in Orlando, Florida, where Brasfield & Gorrie was also honored with four awards recognizing the company’s recent construction projects.

In addition to two Best Project awards and one Award of Merit, the company took home the publication’s coveted Project of the Year Award for its work on Grandview Medical Center. Other projects honored include Brasfield & Gorrie’s work on the new video board at Auburn University’s Jordan-Hare Stadium and Georgia Aquarium’s new Sea Lion Exhibit.
