Brasfield & Gorrie Earns Top Honors for Excellence in Construction

Contractor receives 11 national awards from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)

Birmingham, Ala. (March 3, 2016) – Brasfield & Gorrie today announced that the company was recognized by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) at their national awards banquet yesterday in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The contractor earned 11 national honors for projects in a variety of markets, including healthcare, federal, institutional and industrial. These Excellence in Construction awards included five first-place Eagle awards, three second-place Pyramid awards, one Productivity award, one Greener Tomorrow Award and one Design-Build Award.

“The hard work of the management and field staff, subcontractors and business partners involved in these projects contributed to the highest levels of safety, quality and efficiency. We are very proud of these exceptional projects and thankful to our clients, who put their trust in us,” said Brasfield & Gorrie CEO Jim Gorrie.

The five projects recognized by ABC with first-place Eagle awards are WakeMed North Women’s Hospital Expansion in Raleigh, North Carolina; Highlands Presbyterian Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi; Wallace Creek North Bachelor Enlisted Quarters in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina; Auburn University Jordan-Hare South End Zone Modifications in Auburn, Alabama; and the Literacy Council of Central Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama.

Of these first-place projects, three were selected for additional honors. The Auburn University Jordan-Hare South End Zone Modifications project earned a Productivity award, which recognizes projects using innovative productivity methods. The Wallace Creek North Bachelor Enlisted Quarters project earned a Design-Build Award and a Greener Tomorrow Award for its use of design-build and sustainability best practices.

The three projects honored with second-place Pyramid awards are Highlands United Methodist Church Renovations in Birmingham, Alabama; GE Aviation Assembly and Manufacturing Facility in Lafayette, Indiana; and Auburn University Wilford and Kate Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital in Auburn, Alabama.
