Brasfield & Gorrie Completes Construction of New Florida Hospital for Women

General contractor completes new women’s hospital tower

Orlando, Fla. (January 11, 2016)–A ribbon cutting ceremony today marked the completion of construction at the new Florida Hospital for Women tower in Orlando, Florida.

This 12-story, 330-bed specialty hospital introduces a new era of high-tech care for the women of Central Florida. The 420,000 sq ft tower will feature some of the area’s most advanced technology to deliver unique woman-centric health care in a hotel-like setting.

Florida Hospital for Women offers women in all life stages a comprehensive health and healing experience, with services in three major areas: pre-pregnancy care, well-women care and specialty care. The facility will include services such as obstetrics, maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, women’s surgery, neonatal intensive care, mammography, wellness and education, a lactation center and digital mammography.

Brasfield & Gorrie’s Orlando office served as general contractor, teaming with architect HKS Inc. on this construction project for Florida Hospital. Construction began in 2013 and included a 12-hour concrete pour that was the 2nd largest ever conducted in Florida.

The first phase of the hospital will open to patients on January 24, 2016.
