Brasfield & Gorrie Completes Construction of New Westin Jackson Hotel

Ribbon cutting marks completion of city’s first luxury hotel

Jackson, Mississippi (August 3, 2017) – Brasfield & Gorrie today announced that the company has completed work on the Westin® Jackson, a new full-service hotel in Jackson, Mississippi. A ribbon cutting ceremony today marked the opening of the hotel.

Conveniently located in the growing downtown area, the Westin Jackson is the first luxury global hotel brand in the city.

The nine-story, 174,000 sq ft structure features 203 rooms and suites. Amenities include a fitness center, restaurant, resort-style spa, Westin club lounge, and indoor pool. The facility also features 12,000 sq ft of meeting space.

Participants in the development include Capital Hotel Associates, Wischermann Partners, Hinds County, Jackson Redevelopment Authority and the State of Mississippi. Brasfield & Gorrie served as general contractor and Elness Swenson Graham Architects Inc. served as project architect.

This is the second Westin hotel constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie. In a joint venture arrangement with Monumental Contracting Services, Brasfield & Gorrie completed the Westin Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2012.
