Brasfield & Gorrie Commences Construction at Berman Commons

Work begins on $16.5 million assisted living and memory care community in Dunwoody, Ga.

Atlanta, Ga. (Dec. 20, 2013) – Brasfield & Gorrie today announced the recent start of construction on Berman Commons, a $16.5 million assisted living and memory care community in Dunwoody, Ga. The new facility will be owned and operated by Jewish Home Life Communities, a comprehensive system of life care communities and services for senior citizens and their families.

Brasfield & Gorrie is general contractor for the project, which consists of an 85,000 sq ft, three-story facility that will include 90 units. In addition to the apartments, the facility will feature common areas, outdoor spaces, beauty salon, library, and a kosher kitchen for preparing meals and snacks. Berman Commons will be located adjacent to the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta.

Brasfield & Gorrie’s Atlanta office is partnering with architect THW Design and engineers Travis Pruitt & Associates and Pruitt Eberly Stone Engineers on this project, which is expected to complete in late 2014.
