Brasfield & Gorrie breaks ground on Vestavia Medical Plaza

December 19, 2018

Congressman Gary Palmer, Vestavia Hills Mayor Ashley Curry, State Sen. Jabo T. Waggoner and preaching minister Dr. Bret Walters of Homewood Church of Christ joined Dr. Swaid N. Swaid this week to break ground on Vestavia Medical Plaza. The facility will be located at 1021 Old Montgomery Highway in Vestavia Hills.

“We are excited and happy to bring a state-of-the-art medical facility to Vestavia Hills which will provide quality and cost-effective healthcare to the residents of this area, the state of Alabama and beyond,” Swaid said.

“We are honored to have been selected by Dr. Swaid for this exciting project right here in Birmingham,” said Brasfield & Gorrie Vice President and Division Manager Ed Hauser. Brasfield & Gorrie will serve as the general contractor. “We have a strong history of building similar facilities across the county and are looking forward to working with him on this project in our hometown. This is a great location and will bring first-class, convenient healthcare to the city’s residents.”

Vestavia Medical Plaza will be a 40,000 sq ft multi-specialty medical plaza with an ambulatory surgery center, diagnostic center and clinical space. Construction is scheduled to begin in late January. The plaza is being developed by Practice Partners, and Evan Terry Associates is the architect. The center’s completion is projected for fall 2019.
