This project involved the expansion of the Tampa Surface Water Treatment Plant from 60 to 120 million gallons per day. The scope of work included installation of a new ACTIFLO® treatment system that includes high-rate flocculation and sedimentation removal, an ozone contact tank, and six carbon filters. The project also included a new chlorine contact chamber, a backwash solids clarifier, a main electrical building with emergency generators, chemical storage buildings and containment structures, a solids dewatering building and maintenance area, a thickening/dewatering polymer system, a truck loading station, recycle surge basin modifications, dry chemical storage, an alkalinity adjustment facility, and a booster pump station.
