The South Cobb Water Reclamation Facility Upgrade consisted of construction of a new effluent filter structure, plant recycle pump station, effluent filter pump station, reuse pump station, secondary clarifier, and return-activated sludge (RAS) pump station as well as an extension of the existing aeration basin. These structures included forming and placing approximately 14,200 cubic yards of concrete.

The project also included installation of 6,800 linear feet of underground ductile iron pipe ranging from 4 to 54 inches and 163,000 pounds of flanged ductile iron pipe with associated valves; demolition of the existing control building, blower/electrical building, maintenance building, AFE pump station, and primary sedimentation basins; and an extensive upgrade of the plant’s supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system.
