The Saint Joseph’s Translational Research Center is a facility where researchers from a branch of medical research called translational medicine work to translate animal research discoveries into clinical applications for the treatment of human patients. Located adjacent to the campus of Georgia Institute of Technology, this project was a renovation of an existing 31,001 sq ft shell building and the addition of a 4,000 sq ft loading dock area. The Translational Research Center houses a vivarium, laboratory space, animal holding rooms, two operating rooms, two catheterization laboratories, two environmental rooms (cold rooms), and two cage washes. The project included reworking the site infrastructure as well as installing a new mechanical system, air handlers, chillers, and boilers.
