ENR Southeast Best Landscape/Hardscape/Urban Development Project
This multiphase expansion to Piedmont Park, an Atlanta landmark, added 53 acres to the 116-year-old park, increasing the size by 40 percent. Added features include new meadows, an interactive fountain, a multipurpose field, a basketball court, an expanded dog park, restrooms, and other amenities.
More than 1,000 trees were planted during Phase I of the project, with additional numerous native and adaptable understory plantings. The project also added two wells and a pumping station tied to the park’s Lake Clara Meer, virtually eliminating reliance on potable water for caring for the historic park’s lawns and thousands of trees.
