The Georgia Aquarium includes 434 miles of electrical conduit, with redundant power to support these vital systems, and 218 pumps. The aquarium tanks were built to withstand the pressure of 1.3 million gallons of water.
The dolphin expansion consisted of a 1.8 million-gallon exhibit to accommodate up to eleven dolphins and included viewing windows and stadium seating for dolphin shows. The expansion increased the aquarium’s square footage to 524,000 and its total water capacity to 10 million gallons.
