This project consisted of an addition and renovations to the library at Emory Oxford campus, including a full interior demolition and renovation of the existing two-story, 20,255 sq ft library building. The renovation included major structural modifications with new steel framing and new exterior shear walls, as well as a new stucco façade, cast stone, windows, flashings, and roofing. The interior portion of the renovation included a café, warming kitchen, classrooms, administrative areas and office space, special collections, reading rooms, study and tutor rooms, conference rooms, research space, and archival space. High-density compact shelving was installed on both floors.

The two-story, 9,605 sq ft addition features an architectural clerestory, stained wood trusses, and stained wood decking. The roof structure enhances the building’s integrity by acting as a brace frame for the existing structure. Space in the commons area includes study and gathering space with the appearance of a traditional library, a central service desk, seminar space, a balcony overlooking the commons space, and a monumental steel and stone stair as the main access between floors.
