Brasfield & Gorrie Named Top Contractor in 2007

Ranked #1 for the second year in a row, Brasfield & Gorrie was named the Top Contractor in 2007 by Southeast Construction.

The magazine based its rankings on the 2007 revenue generated from projects within the Southeast region (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.) Also taken into account is each firm’s body of construction work and their biggest project under construction during 2007. Brasfield & Gorrie earned more than $1.3 billion in revenue from the Southeast region during 2007. The magazine listed more than 160 general contracting and construction management firms in the list.

A breakdown of Brasfield & Gorrie’s revenue from its Southeast operations includes Florida with nearly $491 million; Georgia with $629.6 million; North Carolina with $129.2 million; and South Carolina with $51.5 million.

Miller Gorrie purchased the company’s assets. In 1967, Gorrie changed the name to Brasfield & Gorrie and its headquarters was moved to its present location in Birmingham, Ala. Since then, Brasfield & Gorrie has grown to six offices, including Birmingham, Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh, Jacksonville and Orlando.  The company currently includes 26 operating divisions that focus on specific, specialized construction markets. In 2008, Brasfield & Gorrie is expected to generate more than $2 billion in revenue.
